Lily of the Valley

My Grandmother very kindly gave me a sum of money to invest in photography equipment. Not loads but enough to buy a Pentax K-5 and a Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 lens. Just the small upgrade in equipment has been brilliant, I still use my manual 50mm lens occasionally but having an autofocus lens and a camera with a higher pixel count and more recorded detail is a revelation.

These images are from my first shoot using the new equipment. Model is Lily La Rousse, Make up is by Victoria Holdstock and hair is by Amber Von Tassell Outfit is by Love Child Boudoir  jewellery is by Devine Delinquents

I love this shoot very much as it’s just the right amounts of gothic and pre-raphaelite to my eyes. Lily is excellent at posing and putting a lot of expression into what she does. The team was one of the best I worked with.

Belle Uk for Mortiis M

I had my first shoot with Bell Uk (aka Jennifer) a few weeks ago for Mortiis M styling and accessories. It was a straight forward shoot without a make up artist and simple lighting (one beauty dish) and using my 28-80mm Pentax-A lens which despite being cumbersome, ancient and manual focus doesn’t do too badly. Jen did her own make up and I styled a hair piece for a piece of digital art. Jen is a fab model who I really enjoyed working with- So much so in fact I worked with her again that week and I am planning many more shoots with her- her skin barely needs editing.

My Evil Twin Came To Visit…

So, because she missed me so desperatley my dear friend (and adopted twin sister) Josephine Jones Make Up Artist Extraordinaire came all the way from deepest darkest Wales to visit me in Bristol whereupon we booked some shoots!

The first images I will post here are of Sara Louise of gingersnap models who was a breath of fresh air! I truly enjoyed working with her. The thing I love most about doing my photography is the wonderful people I meet and the meeting of minds that produce great images. The shoot was based around some wonderful creations by Santa Macabre Jewellery as well as some of our own ideas.

Another thing about this shoot was that I got to combine my love of doing dreamy sunny pictures and my new found darker side!

Oh how I love working with a great model and make up artist and designer….
